Requirements
- 3+ years experience; preferably within an industrial equipment assembly / manufacturing environment;
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills;
- Ability to understand fabrication drawings, mechanical assembly drawings, pneumatic, and hydraulic circuit diagrams;
- Experience with general fabrication processes;
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools;
- Some familiarity with electrical circuit diagrams;
- Experience with PLC Programming is an asset;
- Conveyor / custom equipment experience an asset;
- Ability to travel (locally, nationally and/or internationally) for onsite installations;
- Ability to work overtime and on weekends if required;
- Ability to work within a manufacturing setting and at height when required;
- Valid driver’s license required;
- Forklift certificate is an asset;
- Overhead crane experience/certification is an asset;
- Scissor Lift training/certification is an asset;
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office applications, an asset;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Job description
To be successful, you absolutely must have a desire to work hard, in a fast-paced environment, and be fueled by the excitement of working with leading edge equipment and technology, to accomplish the following:
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, pneumatic & hydraulic schematics;
- Manufacture parts according to drawings and/or specifications;
- Assemble / fit fabricated components, sub-components, frames, conveyors, robotic cells, etc. as per drawings, specifications, instructions, and technical manuals;
- Install, examine, troubleshoot, replace or repair mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic assemblies, lighting fixtures and electrical components as required;
- Assist in the installation of cable trays, conduit pipe and wire pulling for electrical systems;
- Install brackets and hangers to support mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, or electrical equipment;
- Test operation of equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of the system, following installation, replacement or repair;
- Clean, prepare, passivate and/or polish fabricated components as required;
- Install equipment at customer facilities and trial run same as required;
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair plant production equipment and machinery as well as facility systems;
- Identify and implement plant improvements and improve cost effectiveness;
- Adhere to the Project Management schedule(s) ensuring equipment downtime is minimized and plant is running efficiently;
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment;
- Always work in compliance with safety regulations and any applicable code(s);
- Other duties as assigned.
